This is other of these typical cases of “ Evolves or dies ” and that not always is understood by the most stupid and clutching fans, I've always said that Grendel is one of those few artists inside the Harsh and Dark electro that are worrying about offering something new and that are not allow to stay static as so many other bands of the genre that sound exactly equally or those who believe that being dirtier they sound are more evil or more dangerous. Grendel already put the example once with “ Soilbleed “ in 2005 and repeated success with Harsh generation in 2007, one of the most outstanding discs of the Harsh electro of this year precisely for daring to give a more interesting draft than another bands of the same genre. For this 2009, it surprises us again with “ Chemicals Circuitry “, an EP that serves us as advance what from now on will be … and we hope that like that it every day should be, the new Grendel, so away every day of the Harsh and Dark Electro, that for approval of many of their fans and that we are not so envolved in the Dark we will be able to appreciate in a best way, the disc is provided with 3 new tracks and several remixes based on these, opens with "Chemicals Ciscuitry", who immediately to more of one will make him think that something is not ok or that they're listening the wrong disc, this track it might say that there is a species of Revival of the future Pop, reminds to me clearly that "Meshwork" of the X Marks The Pedwalk and also the last thing that Icon Of Coil did in “ Machines are us ” or the In Strict Confidence's "Holy", a perfectly executed track that balances very well the melody of the modern Synth pop with the typical aggressiveness of Grendel. “ Shortwired ” the following track does not remain behind, here you can be appreciated even reminiscences of the Grendel of "Harsh Generation" but supported by an effective Trance base and a few almost clean and melodious vocals that leave to us apreciate the marvellous vocal range of Mr. JD Tucker, finally the third track “ Serotonin Rush “ is an instrumental piece in the whole Icon of Coil line, very well executed harmonies on a Trance base again and speaking about the remixes of the disc, they couldn't be less spectacular taking in account the artists that Tucker chose for the album, the remix of Synthetic Dream Foundation for “ Shortwired “ is a killer track for dance floors, very near to Psychedelic Trance, as the remix of "Chemicals + Circuitry" in hands of Studio-X that takes it also to the ultra-dance areas but of Hard Style, the rest of the best serious mixes that you were discovering it for yourself because this EP is something that really it is necessary to taste slowly to manage to capture all his scent, already I want to listen to the complete album, highly recommended album.
