Urceus Exit perhaps is a band that could be stranger for many people because they have relatively little time in the scene, they're a duo of Vancouver, Canada, cradle of big industrial artists as Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly, Moev and Manufacture and well, with this new exportation of Canada to the world we have not left any doubt that they've always been and they will keep on being to the front part in these scene, inclusive over the german industrial and electro artists, that lately only has been repeating itself.
Urceus Exit is shaped by Richard
Duggan and Joel Sellen, they made their debut 3 years ago with an album that has already also gone on to the history as one of the most interesting and avant-gardists of the history of the electronic modern music, we are speaking about the album "Contra" edited under the Artoffact records label, in the mentioned album they includes elements of IDM combined perfectly with Electropop and minimal Electronics, perhaps comparably to the sound of Haujobb on albums as “ Solutions for a small planet ” and “ Polarity “, the album did not have great aftereffect due to the complicated of their musical structures, but nevertheless they did not give up and the Artoffact label kept on giving them the support and the creative freedom.
It is as well as to after 3 years of their essential
"Contra" arrives the future classic “Compensation for the sound of silence”, perhaps to soeme of you the title could be to many pretentious, but once you listen it you'll not think the same, Urceus Exit in their second production has managed to find not only the perfect formula to balance the IDM and the synthpop with the modern electronics, they already do not remember any more Haujobb, now perhaps in moments they might look alike in some tracks to what it is doing Ogre of Skinny Puppy as soloist and that it is possible to appreciate in pieces as “ It all adds up to zero ” and “ The mobilization of blindness ”, also in moments Rupesh Cartel might remind us and to the disbanded Dubok in “ The worst that we've become ”, “ Drifting “ and “ Pretend “, the rest of the album is shaped for tracks of very thin and sophisticated manufacture that dificultly you'll be able to listen to some another band.
The end of the album is forceful with the dense “ Compensation for the sound of silence ” that makes
leave us only asking for more. Briefly the disc is a masterpiece from beginning to end, for many years i was not listening to a disc of this nature and that really was catching me as this one has made, with every listening you always discover a new detail, finally a disc that could not be absent in the collection of any lover of the music synthpop and modern electronics.
